On Saturday we lost our father Dale Honeyman because of complications from a stroke. He fought a very long and courageous battle and is finally at peace, he will be missed beyond what words can describe, he was truly an amazing man.
We know that many of you who support Project Mobility know that our whole family is involved one way or another.
Our dad was a great man who will be remembered for his hard work, his generosity, his dedication to his family and his willingness to always help others. Dale was the founding father of our family business, The Bike Rack in St. Charles. He was always behind the scenes figuring the finances; he was the glue that held the family business together.
Over the last 46 years The Bike Rack had some amazing accomplishments, and our dad was there to back us up whatever it took. He never wanted recognition but was always there as a great leader. We all have some big shoes to fill. He taught everyone a lot over the years, we encourage everyone to do their best in life to honor his legacy.
As you can see from the pictures of our dad and mom they loved coming to our fundraising events for Project Mobility and nobody was prouder to look up and see them there seeing what we had accomplished as a family, not only their children but now their grandchildren. We have been the luckiest family to have worked with such an amazing man all of these years!
Dad would drop whatever he was doing if we needed help with something. Anything, from helping Katherine with the Christmas mailing to get it out on time to driving across the United States with a trailer full of adaptive bike equipement all the way to California for an event for wounded veterans because we needed to get the equipment there. He was always there to help!
It is going to be so hard not to see him out there watching us with such pride that we always saw on his face as we were working the event. So to honor him we will be dedicating this year's Hops for Hope 5K and Everybody Rides to our dad!
You are welcome to join us in celebrating our dad's amazing life!
